Ryan’s hatred for Valmont could not be any higher at this point, it was like he was breathing in air and letting out red steam, steam which he wished would go and kill Valmont. He scrunched up his face at Valmont’s tight grabbing; he refused to let out a moan of pain, refused to let out a cry. But it was hard with electrifying pain. His top teeth cut down hard on his bottom lip and despite his refusal, a whimper crept out of his mouth. It was like having to co-operate with the damned, being completely in his Valmont’s control. His breath was hard, heavy and he felt sick. The smell of the bathroom was disappearing as it became the least of his worries. The powerlessness of him was taking over, but he couldn’t admit to defeat.

“Okay fine, just let me go and I’ll keep still. Please.” He begged quickly, his words desperate. He felt himself in a type of clammy sweat, like what one gets when they have the flu, or some sort of infection. He hated that feeling, the feeling of fear, but most of all the overbearing pain stemming in him. He tried to think of a counter attack, remaining still in hope of Valmont letting go of him. And when he let go, he could attack him… right? Or was that what he just did and he still managed to get himself in this position… He didn’t know, he just knew he’d have to get him back, in the same sort of violence and pain. Perhaps a night time attack would work, attack him whilst he was asleep, tie him up, humiliate him and hurt him, feed him pain which he hadn’t felt before. He could get Hayden, Ryder… people to help. Couldn’t he? He didn’t know, he was just clueless now. He felt a small tear drop to the floor from his right eye. He hated crying and showing emotion in front of another. And the worst of it was he couldn’t wipe the tear from his face. He tried to hold it all in, not that it was loud crying, just that of the silent type as he tried to savour his mind. “Please, dickhead, you can’t do this, I’m a father, let go of me.” Did Valmont have a sensitive side? Could he say he was a father and be released just for that fact. “Please!” he moaned.

“I thought you understood,” Valmont said wrenching back on Ryan’s arm instead of releasing it. “I thought you were listening when I said you would have to learn to be nicer to me.” Valmont squeezed tighter. Valmont’s knee came up and he slammed it against Ryan’s side, rolling him onto his back and on top of his twisted arm. Ryan was now face up with one free hand. Valmont put his knee across Ryan’s chest.

Ryan had been crying. Valmont found that strange.

He realized he could not keep Ryan pinned down on the boy’s room floor forever. He was eventually going to have to let him up. When he eventually let Ryan up, he would be inviting retaliation. Valmont looked down into Ryan’s face. His tight grip on private Ryan still demanding that he remain still.

“I will release you on one condition. Are you listening?” Valmont asked, squeezing tighter to see if Ryan was listening. “Lie still, do not move,” he hissed down at him.

“I did understand,” Ryan yelled loudly in pain. “Let go, let go, please, please let go.” He shouted, his breath in small gasps. His teeth were on verge of breaking, or so he thought, due to the amount of pressure he put on them through the agony. With his free hand, he reached it up to Valmont’s leg, clasping it, digging what little claws he had in to it. Part of this was for something to grip. Gripping something made pain easier to handle. The other reason was to cause Valmont a slight bit pain also. His grip got harder the longer it all went on. He just wanted to be free, to be unhurt, and to be able to breathe without the awful stench. How was it that such a monster could have this much power over him? His face represented all that he hate he had inside.

Ryan’s grip suddenly intensified with Valmont’s squeeze. How did he expect him to lie still when he was on verge of screaming with the ongoing torture? He looked up. What if Valmont was to kill him? What if Valmont was to hurt him really really bad, giving him lasting damage, and he hadn’t done anything to help himself. He glared at him, as if by glaring at him would kill him, or damage him. “I’m listening.” He muttered bitterly. Ryan raised an eyebrow at Valmont, he was basically telling him not to attack? That filled him with a sense of pride, it was as though Valmont was fearing the attack. “Yeah?” Ryan asked, anticipating the pain which would surely come. It was a risk he’d take, a risk he’d have to take. It was physical pain and he could deal with that, right? He hocked back and in a matter of moments, spat upwards at Valmont. “Fuck you, you dirty piece of shit. If you think I’m gonna back down just because… just because you’re you and you’ve got me, then you can get lost. As soon as you let go of me, I’ll attack you and kill you with the new hate you’ve given me. And even if I don’t manage it then, I will do it,” He began to wonder if he’d ever be able to have sex again, or children. He was lucky he had Jump, that he’d have one child to fulfil his legacy and to be a father to, instead of none. He knew when Valmont left go, he wouldn’t attack anyways. He’d probably hug himself tightly, regain freedom in his body and probably just lie there. Or he’d go and see Ruby and get her to nurse him better. They weren’t going out or anything, but she was the mother of his son, so he hoped she’d be happy to help. “I hate you, so what is that what you’re gonna do to my brother, was that the taste?” Ryan questioned, his eyes watery. “Like I said, keep away from him.”

There would be no way to let him up unscathed. No. If Valmont wanted to ensure that he wouldn’t be attacked again he knew he was going to have to stomp on Ryan like a cockroach. Valmont let the resolution wash over him. He felt nothing. No anger, no hate, no sympathy, no mercy.

Valmont let go all at once, stood up, took two steps back, and swung his combat boot. The steel tipped boot caught Ryan in his ribs on his left side. Valmont couldn’t tell if he had broken, cracked, or bruised his ribs, but he felt the strength of his kick had the potential to have. It was a field goal kick and there was no getting around it.

He turned around to a paper towel dispenser to wipe the spit from his face. He looked down at Ryan in silence.
